Difficult to access psychiatrists

How easy is it to get access to a psychologist...I suppose it's relatively easy if you can afford it.  If you require a psychiatrist, that's another story.  I've been trying to access a psychiatrist since last May.

I was sent to ER by my Dr and saw one on an out patient basis but that is maximum 10 appointments.  Now I am swinging in the wind.  If I was well enough to jump through the hoops, I wouldn't need one.

My GP prescribes drugs that he is not familiar with and I vasilate between depression and frustration.

Wow, this speaks to me personally.  When my G.P. tried to find someone for me in our city, Hamilton, nobody was available.  She found a psychiatrist for me in Brantford.  So here I was, in the throws of depression, unable to drive myself to the appointments and having to ask my husband to take time off of work to get me there.  Then there was the cost of gas.  How incredible that there was nobody available in my own city.
