Community Based Self-Management Programs Linda Wilhelm Posted: 2010-04-28 05:21:14
In NB we also have a Chronic Disease Self Management Program resourced by the Department of Health. There is also an Arthritis Self Management Program resourced by The Arthritis Society. Unfortunately, these evidenced based programs that teach individuals how to better manage their disease are under resourced and do not reach enough people since they are volunteer driven. When there is a recognition by governments that they MUST put more resources into these programs we might see a shift in health care in Canada and better health outcomes for patients

In BC you can find community programs available through the University of Victoria Centre on Aging. We offer self-management programs for people with chronic conditions for free with support from the BC Ministry of Health Services. We currently have three programs: Chronic Disease, Chronic Pain, and Diabetes. Workshop information is available at www.coag.uvic.ca/cdsmp

The Marshall Protocol, should be used all over this site, but I don't find mention of it. You take the information from the research scientists, from the MP site, and Trevor Marshall and his team of Research Scientists, work with your GP to cure the diseses that there was previosly no cure for. Trevor was cured 30 years ago, his staff in the last 10 years, and in the last few years, tousands worldwide. http://www.futuremedicine.com/doi/pdf/10.2217/17410541.6.2.143 http://AutoimmunityResearch.org/transcripts/CMBF_2009_Dalian_Transcript.pdf http://AutoimmunityResearch.org/transcripts/Prague_2009_MP_Transcript.pdf http://AutoimmunityResearch.org/transcripts/Prague_2009_Science_Transcript.pdf Thousands of people are reading over a million pages on the Marshall Protocol site. I have no idea who follows the Canada Values Health site. Let me know? Bevin Black

Well, there are massage therapists and chiropractors with private practices, but they are expensive. I have to use what my private insurance allows me and beyond that, I suffer through the pain in my back every day. I don't know of any community programs available for someone like me.
